What happened on the show
A failing cafe was taking a 25-year marriage down with it in Stone Mountain. At Sweet Potato Cafe, Karen was burning out under most of the responsibility while Darrell took a back seat, and the episode frames the rescue around getting Darrell to pull his weight and rekindling Karen's passion in the kitchen before both the business and the marriage gave out. Leveling out a lopsided partnership was the real work, and every hour of the rescue pushed that. Because the teaser centers on that uneven load, not the plates, what remains is a cafe whose survival turned on two spouses sharing the weight they had carried so unequally for a quarter century, the marriage and the business standing or falling together.

Sweet Potato Cafe is still in business. A February 2023 Mashed.com update reports the cafe remained open in 2023 with a four-star Yelp rating. Resting on that lone February 2023 report, we call it open at medium confidence, nothing newer located. For a couple whose long marriage was buckling under a lopsided workload, keeping the Stone Mountain cafe open past the makeover reads as the shared win the episode was after.
