What happened on the show
Del's was a Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh, and Irvine took it on in the third season, on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield. The Del's episode left no durable, granular record in Pittsburgh, and the Wikipedia list adds no summary of its own. Rather than invent a Del's recap, we set the reliable pattern down: a taste of the Italian standards, a walk through the Pittsburgh kitchen, a reckoning with the owners, and a two-day Pittsburgh redesign. The particular dishes and design decisions at Del's in Pittsburgh were never recorded, so we leave those blanks. That keeps the Del's entry honest: a Pittsburgh setting, a fixed method, and an aftermath that carries the facts. A Pittsburgh institution of that vintage rarely gets erased, and Del's did not; its address is a restaurant again under a new name.
After the cameras left
Del's Bar and Ristorante DelPizzo closed in May 2015 after more than sixty years on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield. The space did not stay empty: it has since housed two other restaurants, most recently Camino Cocteleria y Cocina, which local outlet WPXI covered as newly open in October 2025, with additional coverage via MSN. Recent, dated local-news corroboration of both the closure and the current occupant puts this at high confidence. A long-lived Pittsburgh institution gave way, and its address is a restaurant again under a new name.
