An owner who taught art full-time still insisted on approving every decision at her failing restaurant. Allyson ran 333 Restaurant in Grenada, Mississippi, and forced her manager to run even small choices past her while she was busy in a classroom, leaving the place leaderless and months from closing. Since she would not give up teaching, Irvine's rescue turned on convincing her that trusting and empowering her staff was the only way to save it. Convincing an absentee owner to trust her staff was the real work, and the rebuild followed from that single goal. Because the teaser centers on that absentee control, not the plates, what remains is a lakeside restaurant whose survival depended on its owner learning to let go.
