restaurantMystery Diners · Season 5, Episode 7 · Aired February 17, 2014
My Greek and Italian Restaurant
Tacoma, Washington
The trail goes cold here; we could not verify whether it is still open. The last confirmed sighting we found dates to 2014.
What happened after
No closure or open confirmation found. Manta lists it as established 2012, still listed in directories, but Yahoo's own related-searches suggested users searching '...tacoma wa closing'.
What happened on the show
Nader Morcos noticed inventory shortfalls and a rash of broken plates at his Tacoma restaurant and suspected a newly promoted assistant manager and two others. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Brianna and Nadine in as a waitress and a customer. As aired, the best waitress is clean, but the assistant manager, Steve, is filmed overloading a flaming Greek saganaki into a fire hazard, taking a bribe to stage the plate-smashing the owner had banned over breakage costs, and having a busboy stuff band flyers into to-go orders before they close early to party. The confrontation has Nader firing Steve and sparing the pressured busboy. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of staging its confrontations, this broken-plates sting is best read as broadcast rather than as independently confirmed.
After the cameras left
After the episode, My Greek and Italian Restaurant fades from the record. We could not confirm a current open or closed status for the Tacoma spot at 2303 North Pearl Street in our 2026 pass, finding it still listed in directories but with no dated signal either way, so we hold it at last confirmed. Mystery Diners filmed an inventory sting and moved on; it left no rescue to trace, and the honest answer here is that the trail simply goes quiet rather than pointing open or closed.
