Bask 46 had been open less than a year when Ramsay reached the Woodland Park, New Jersey bar and grill, and its problems were the kind a brand-new restaurant makes: portions so oversized they hurt the margins, a dysfunctional menu, and a head chef Ramsay found openly confrontational. The visit, filmed in late May 2023, leaned on tightening the operation and installing systems the young gastropub simply lacked. The kitchen conflict was a throughline of the episode, and in the aftermath the confrontational chef, Bobby, never returned to the restaurant, stepping away from the industry entirely while co-owner Sandi took time with her family. Ramsay's changes centered on discipline, right-sizing the plates and giving a barely-launched business the structure it had opened without.
After the cameras left
Bask 46 took the lesson and ran with it. New systems went in, the confrontational chef departed the industry, and by every account the Woodland Park spot has been thriving since, its official site live with current hours and positive reviews.
