In the White Mountains resort town of North Conway, New Hampshire, the Yankee Clipper Inn was a roadside property on the busy tourist corridor of Route 16, serving skiers, hikers and outlet-shopping visitors who pour into the region year-round. As one of the season's later stops, it fit the show's late-run pattern of independent inns in strong tourist markets that needed their operation and identity sharpened to compete. Melchiorri's approach to a property like this was consistent: find the gap between a good location and a middling stay, then close it. The affiliation attaches a chain's reservation system and standards to the same roadside inn while keeping its name front and center. The independent property the show visited has been reflagged and modernized rather than shuttered. Confirmed operating as of 2026 under the SureStay Collection brand.
