What happened on the show
Over in the entertainment town of Branson, Missouri, the Colonial Mountain Inn was a veteran-owned, three-generation family motel with an on-site restaurant, deep in debt when Melchiorri arrived. The episode, Branson Misery, took a darker turn when he discovered a genuine safety hazard: a two-story breezeway with an unlocked door that amounted to a potential deathtrap. A family motel carrying serious debt in a competitive tourist market has little room for error, and an outright safety danger raises the stakes past mere profitability. Anthony worked the rooms, the restaurant and the finances at the property near Branson West, but the safety issue demanded immediate attention alongside the debt. He pushed the family to fix the hazard, get control of their finances and run the motel and its restaurant with discipline, so a multigenerational business could climb out of the hole rather than sink deeper.
After the cameras left
The Colonial Mountain Inn is still a family operation near Branson. As of our 2026 verification the veteran-owned, three-generation motel with its on-site restaurant is open, with an active official site and Facebook page, though its address at 10770 State Highway 76 is actually in the adjacent town of Branson West rather than Branson proper. The debt-laden property with the safety hazard has stayed in the family and in business more than a decade after the show. Confirmed operating as of 2026.
