What happened on the show
Part of the same post-Sandy rescue on the Jersey Shore, the Charlroy was a family-owned motel a block off the Seaside Heights boardwalk, one of four storm-hit properties Melchiorri worked in the Operation Sandy special. What set it apart was how personal the operation was, with owners who lived at the property and ran it hands-on, exactly the kind of small family business that a disaster like Superstorm Sandy could wipe out. Anthony's challenge was to help a mom-and-pop motel recover and modernize in a town rebuilding from catastrophe, sharpening the rooms, the guest experience and the pitch to returning visitors. His counsel treated the family's commitment as an asset to build on, aiming to give a hands-on operation the standards and confidence to draw guests back to a boardwalk that was slowly coming back to life.
After the cameras left
The Charlroy is still a family-run fixture near the boardwalk. As of our 2026 verification the beachfront motel is open, with a directly checked official site carrying owner-written text about living at the property and active phone-and-email reservations, one block from the Seaside Heights boardwalk. The hands-on family operation the show leaned into is still very much in charge. For a small motel that rode out Superstorm Sandy, more than a decade of continuous family ownership is an emphatic survival. Confirmed operating as of 2026.
