What happened on the show
Some episodes confronted Melchiorri with a property he judged nearly beyond saving, and the Anice Inn and Suites in Orlando was one of them. A sprawling 350-room hotel, it was, by the show's account, overrun with aggressive bees, bed bugs and mold, run by an owner who neither understood the scope of the disaster nor had the money to fix it. That trifecta, catastrophic condition, an out-of-his-depth owner and no capital, made it one of the toughest situations the format ever presented. Anthony's challenge was less a tune-up than triage on a huge, failing property, forcing a reckoning with whether a hotel this size and this damaged could realistically be pulled back. He pushed to attack the health hazards and to confront an owner who did not grasp what he was facing. The scale of the problems tested the limits of what a single intervention could accomplish.
After the cameras left
The Anice was converted rather than closed. Attaching a national brand's standards and reservation system was the kind of reset a property in that condition needed.
