Lakeview Hotel
Chelan, Washington
It was renamed and continues to trade. It now goes by The Landing Chelan.
What happened after
Renamed The Landing Chelan; actively operating as a bar & grill and hotel overlooking Lake Chelan.
What happened on the show
The Lakeview Hotel arrived with a bad local reputation, complaints about food and service, and a strange rule barring children even though it ran an on-site ice cream shop. In Chelan, Washington, Ramsay was struck first by the dust, thick on the reception desk and through the restaurant, and by a room that was old-fashioned and dated. Lunch was worse: a runny premade minestrone, a cheeseburger built from thin frozen patties, and a turkey sandwich of low-quality ingredients served with an over-salted broth. During dinner service he pushed owners Brent and Afni MacDonald past their denials toward the changes the hotel needed. Once they committed, his team rebuilt the menu around fresh food and local wines, redid several rooms with new beds, linens, decor, and furniture, and connected the owners with local business leaders to help them plug into Chelan.
After the cameras left
The commitment did not survive Ramsay's departure. The MacDonalds reverted to their old ways, and reviews stayed sharply mixed, both praise and complaints about service and atmosphere, right up to the sale. In the summer of 2021 the property changed hands and was renamed The Landing. As of our latest verification pass The Landing Chelan is live, operating as a bar and grill and hotel overlooking Lake Chelan, with a working booking link and an address that matches the old Lakeview lakefront location. The current site does not itself mention the Lakeview name, so the rename rests on independent search results rather than an on-site statement, which is why we hold it at medium rather than full confidence.
