What happened on the show
Riverhill House, a Grade II listed rag-stone manor in Sevenoaks, Kent, had been in the Rogers family since John Rogers took it over in 1814, and by the time the show arrived four generations were living under one roof. That was part of the problem. The once-treasured house had slid into disrepair and needed money fast, but the family could not agree on how to raise it: heir Ed and his wife Sarah on one side, owner and director Jane Margaret Rogers holding the reins. Ruth Watson's real task at Riverhill was diplomatic as much as commercial, getting three strong-willed relatives to sign up to a single plan for the estate. The ideas on the table played to the gardens the property is known for, a maze, a Himalayan-themed attraction and a new souvenir shop to capture the visitors. Ruth's Revisited return checked whether those schemes had worked and, just as importantly, how Jane Margaret had taken to seeing her Sevenoaks family home reshaped around paying guests.
After the cameras left
Riverhill House came through and then some. As of our latest verification pass it trades as Riverhill Himalayan Gardens, still run by the Rogers family, opening seasonally from March to November as a garden attraction with a cafe and a weddings and dry-hire venue that is already taking bookings for 2027 and beyond. We fetched the official site directly and found a live current-season programme and admission prices, so the operation is unquestionably active. The Himalayan theme Ruth backed became the brand, the disagreeing generations found a way forward, and the Sevenoaks estate that once needed cash in a hurry now runs on a proper visitor and events calendar.
