What happened on the show
Colebrooke Park brought the show to Northern Ireland and introduced its second expert. The B-plus listed neo-classical house, built in 1820 on a thousand-acre estate near Brookeborough in County Fermanagh, is the seat of Alan and Janet, Viscount and Viscountess Brookeborough, who had spent more than thirty years pulling it back from near ruin. They funded that long rescue largely by hosting exclusive shooting parties, but the work was no longer sustainable on that income alone. Simon Davis, the fixer for this series, believed the answer lay in turning the house and its grounds into a health and wellbeing venture, complete with a spa built into the former stable block. The sticking point near Brookeborough was a familiar one across the whole series: Alan and Janet were reluctant to open their home to strangers, and much of the episode turned on whether a proud couple who had saved the place privately could accept sharing it publicly to keep it saved.

Colebrooke Park is open and working hard. As of our latest verification pass the thousand-acre estate near Brookeborough, in the Brooke family since 1641, runs as a multi-purpose operation: a sporting estate offering fishing, deer stalking and shooting, three holiday cottages, corporate and conference facilities, and public open days and events, including a flower festival reported in May 2026. So the Brookeboroughs did diversify beyond the shooting parties that once carried the house, and while the record does not confirm the exact spa concept Simon proposed, the broader idea of opening the estate to paying guests and events is plainly the model keeping it going.
