What happened on the show
A former strip club reborn as a neighborhood bar handed Taffer a tangle of problems in Reseda, and each one was serious on its own. The staff was untrained, the head bartender was stealing straight from the till, and the kitchen was sending out food dangerously undercooked, a genuine health risk rather than a mere quality lapse. Taffer's rescue of Weber's Place had to work all three fronts, retraining a crew that had never been taught, rooting out the theft bleeding the register, and shutting down the food-safety hazards before someone got sick. The episode carried a personal weight for its host, dedicated to Taffer's mother, Yvette Taffer, who died in 2012. He reopened the room as Weber's Rum Bar and Grill, a rum-forward identity meant to give a bar with a checkered past a legitimate reason to draw a crowd, the rescue betting that competence and honesty behind the bar could finally outrun the room's history.
After the cameras left
Weber's Rum Bar and Grill kept going for years before the address turned over entirely. The bar was closed as of April 2018, and a medical office building was later developed on the 19312 Vanowen Street site. Directory evidence anchors the closure, with Yellow Pages listing it closed and Foursquare separately tagging it now closed, though the specific listing URL was not independently re-captured, holding confidence at medium. The bar is gone and the lot itself has moved on.
