barBar Rescue · Season 4, Episode 17 · Aired March 22, 2015
The Los Angeles Brewing Company
Los Angeles, California
Its status today is unclear. The last confirmed sighting we found dates to 2015.
What happened after
Urban Dining Guide was named as the source stating the venue (rebranded LA Brew Co after the Bar Rescue makeover) 'has closed', with a secondary Gazette Review reference to operational trouble 'four months after Bar Rescue left', but no literal URL was captured for either.
What happened on the show
A brewing company that did not brew, advertising a hundred beers on tap while most of its lines sat dead, gave Taffer a bar built on false advertising. At The Los Angeles Brewing Company on South Broadway, owner Richard was financing the place through his own glass business and had no real interest in it, while his nephew Israel burned to take it over. Taffer sent in two recon teams to expose the inconsistency: he was recognized and served at once but frustrated by the missing beers, mixologist Maria got sick from contaminated beer, and the second team waited nearly half an hour before biting into raw hamburgers and leaving. The kitchen and draft system, it emerged, had gone neglected for ages. The rescue's real question was whether the passionate nephew could inherit a room the disengaged uncle had let rot.
After the cameras left
The Los Angeles Brewing Company's current status could not be verified. An outlet, Urban Dining Guide, was named as reporting the venue, rebranded LA Brew Co after the makeover, had closed, with a secondary Gazette Review reference to operational trouble months after the show, but no literal URL was captured for either claim before search outages blocked follow-up. The brewery had opened in 2012 as part of a Broadway revitalization effort at 750 South Broadway. With no independently citable confirmation, the status is honestly held as unverifiable, the Urban Dining Guide lead left for a cleaner pass.
