What happened on the show
Taffer returned to Second Base, the Orange, California, bar he had first rescued as Extremes back in season two, only to find it worse than before. The staff had thinned out, the bartenders had ditched their uniforms and gone back to bikinis, and the room had slid into neglect. Taffer initially suspected manager Gary of letting standards slip, but the real culprit was owner Terry, who had grown disconnected and, it emerged, had diverted all of Second Base's profits into a new bar he had opened, investing nothing back into the original. Terry blamed a wave of competing sports bars for his troubles, but Taffer was furious at the deliberate neglect. While he committed to helping the staff sharpen their skills for their own futures, Terry stayed uncooperative, setting up one of the series' rare and bitter second-rescue failures.
After the cameras left
Second Base finally closed on its own terms around February 2025, roughly a decade after this second rescue. A Tasting Table retrospective, a major-outlet secondary source, confirms the last day fell in February 2025 at 1535 West Chapman Avenue, with the bar closing voluntarily amid competition and slipping standards rather than a shutdown, and a Yelp closed tag corroborates via snippet. This entry is the same physical business as the season-two Extremes row, the two rescues bracketing one continuous decade-long story that ended, at last, quietly. Confidence is medium.
