Season 6, Episode 19 · July 22, 2018 · bar

Multi-business episode: one of 3 businesses rescued in Operation: Puerto Rico (S6E19).

What happened after

Still operating; official bilingual website active and a Facebook post from July 2026 promotes event bookings.

What happened on the show

This was the biggest rescue Taffer had ever done, and it began with a single bar. El K'rajo in Loíza, Puerto Rico, had been devastated by Hurricane Maria, and what started as a bar rescue swelled into a community rescue, with Taffer repairing not only the bar but the surrounding town. His team grew to include Mark Cuban, Mavericks guard J.J. Barea, the actor Luis Guzman, entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel and musician and former ballplayer Bernie Williams. Learning the owners were in danger of losing their home, Taffer personally gave them 12,000 dollars to settle their mortgage. He narrated the episode himself rather than closing with the usual sales update, underscoring that this Operation: Puerto Rico rescue of El K'rajo was about a community's survival as much as a single bar's.

After the cameras left

El K'rajo is still open. Its official bilingual website is active, and a Facebook post from July 2026 promotes event bookings at Carr 187 in Loíza, which puts the open call at high confidence. The bar at the heart of Taffer's largest-ever rescue, the anchor of the Operation: Puerto Rico effort that rebuilt a hurricane-battered community, kept its doors open and its name intact years later, landing this one firmly among the survivors and a genuine success story from the show's most ambitious undertaking.
