What happened on the show

Jaxon Edwin was the third Ellicott City business in Ramsay's Save Our Town finale, and the most unusual of the trio. Not a restaurant at all, it was a three story men's concept blending a boutique, a barbershop, a coffee counter, and a bourbon bar, one more Main Street venture caught in the wreckage of the 2016 and 2018 floods. Like its neighbors, it was rescued not through the show's usual timed surveillance format but as part of the untimed, town wide mobilization that pulled in famous names, among them Cal Ripken Jr., the Baltimore Ravens, Larry Hogan, the state National Guard, and Nate Berkus on design. Ramsay's aim was to help a distinctive local business reopen and give the recovering district a reason for people to come back and spend.

After the cameras left

Jaxon Edwin did not make it through the pandemic. The three story boutique, barbershop, and coffee and bourbon bar closed permanently in August 2020, citing COVID-19 capacity restrictions while still owing full rent on a building it leased rather than owned. Coming so soon after the flood recovery and the show's spotlight, the closure was a tough end for the most ambitious of the three Ellicott City concepts. A follow up on the special could not even be completed before the pandemic hit the United States, and Jaxon Edwin was one of its casualties.
