What happened on the show
The Green Man Pub and Hotel sat in a prime spot beside Wembley Stadium, yet poor reviews and dated bedrooms were driving guests away and forcing owner Mel Preedy to lean on the pub to prop up the hotel side. The visit earned a rare distinction: this was only the second time in the show's history that Alex Polizzi refused to stay the night, a blunt verdict on the state of the rooms. Her series 10 task was to fix accommodation bad enough that she would not sleep in it, and to convert a genuinely strong location, minutes from a major stadium, into a hotel trade that could stand on its own rather than depending on the bar. Polizzi's refusal to sleep there, only her second on the show, aired in March 2014, with the prime Wembley location the asset she leaned on.
