What happened after
Southern BBQ restaurant, kitschy decor, owner "Cameron," per the show's synopsis (season 1 finale). No current business, address, or neighborhood surfaced within budget.
What happened on the show
Cameron chased a dream on a shoestring, and the result was Hillbilly Heaven, a Southern barbecue joint stitched together from whatever money he could scrape up. The vision outran the execution. The episode described a menu that read like roadkill and decor that tipped from kitschy into tragic, a barbecue restaurant so committed to its gimmick that the gimmick had swallowed the food. As the season one finale, it handed the Restaurant Takeover team a real test of patience. The Food Network Canada reboot of Restaurant Makeover sent chef Adam Hynam-Smith and designer Amanda Campbell in on the six-day clock to wrangle both the eccentric concept and its equally eccentric owner. The challenge was to keep whatever charm Cameron's oddball vision had while stripping away the parts driving customers off, a balance the show's format compresses into less than a week of work with a determined, unconventional proprietor.
After the cameras left
Hillbilly Heaven is unverifiable. Despite a fairly distinctive name, searches turned up only streaming and database listings for the television episode, never the physical restaurant, and no address or neighborhood ever surfaced to anchor it. So we cannot say whether Cameron's barbecue joint survived past its 2012 finale appearance, changed hands, or closed. Current trading could not be confirmed, and no last-known operational signal exists beyond the episode itself. For a concept as specific as this one, the total absence of a later footprint is suggestive but not conclusive, so the row stays honestly in the unknown column.
