What happened on the show
Valuable motorcycle memorabilia and donated parts were vanishing from Michael and Berenice Thomas's Portland moto-cafe, gear the couple used to support an enthusiast charity. Charles Stiles sent mystery diners Shelby, Leslie and Daniel in as a waitress and customers. As aired, a manager and a waiter had been selling off the memorabilia and running a fake charity for themselves, the manager also mishandling a mother and son who sat on a display bike, and a planted diner easily walks out with a part to test the staff. The confrontation has Michael threatening the police unless the pair confess, which they do before being fired. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting these reveals, this memorabilia sting is best read as broadcast rather than as independently confirmed.
After the cameras left
After the episode, Fenders slips out of the verifiable record. Only an undated directory listing surfaced for the Portland moto-cafe at 4336 Southeast Woodstock Boulevard in our 2026 pass, with no current open or closed confirmation, so we hold it at last confirmed rather than guess. Mystery Diners filmed a memorabilia sting and moved on; it left no rescue to trace. A themed neighborhood cafe with a thin online footprint is exactly the kind of subject the record cannot settle either way.
