El Toro De Oro's

What happened after

No trace found of a restaurant/bar by this name in Maywood, CA; only an unrelated 'El Toro Liquor Store' at a different type of business surfaced repeatedly.

What happened on the show

El Toro De Oro's produced a Mystery Diners first: two of the restaurant's own waiters hired Charles Stiles to check whether their Maywood general manager was as abusive as the accusations claimed, with the new, hands-off owner Xavier Franco, a friend of the manager, going undercover in disguise to see for himself. As aired, the manager berated his male waiters and bussers, skipped training staff, comped meals for his girlfriend and let her collect paychecks she had not earned, and harassed the female servers. The confrontation, in the parking lot, has Xavier drop the disguise and fire the manager, ending their friendship. Because Mystery Diners was later accused of scripting its confrontations, this owner-led sting is best read as broadcast rather than as documented event.

After the cameras left

After the episode, El Toro De Oro's leaves no trace under that name. Searches in our 2026 pass turned up only an unrelated Maywood liquor store, with no findable record of the featured restaurant, so we hold it at last confirmed rather than guess. Mystery Diners filmed an abusive-manager sting and moved on; it left no rescue to trace. A small independent with no distinct online footprint is exactly the kind of subject the directory cannot honestly score either way, so we decline to.
