What happened on the show
Slipping service scores and a thirty percent revenue drop drove Tempe restaurateur Jay Wisniewski to Charles Stiles. The Mystery Diners operation put Danny behind a serving apron and Chris, Matt and Leeann at the tables, and the sweep, as aired, sorted his staff into surprises. Waitress Gwen insulted the boss yet turned out to be a model employee; waiter Brad was capable but timid; the real problem was trainee Sophia, filmed drinking on shift, snapping at guests, and picking food off their plates. The confrontation has Jay praising Gwen, coaxing Brad, and firing Sophia, who maintains she did nothing wrong by grabbing a bite and a drink. Stiles signs off with service back to normal. Because Mystery Diners later faced sustained claims of staging, this three-target verdict, like the rest, is best carried as broadcast rather than as independently confirmed fact.
