What happened on the show

Ramsay arrived at Kings Blu Jam Cafe and knocked on the window, mistaking the entrance for a drive-through that turned out not to work, then stepped into a lifeless dining room in Spring, Texas. The Cajun-themed breakfast and brunch spot, opened in 2018 by Connie King Sumrall, was buried under more than 600,000 dollars in debt and an oversized menu. The food did nothing to justify it: Ramsay sampled the keto shrimp and grits and the signature Biscuits Benedict and hated both, unable even to swallow his bite of grits. In one of the episode's more alarming moments, a customer reported projectile vomiting that she and a staffer traced to the shrimp and grits Ramsay had also eaten. The Season 9 visit found a Louisiana-style cafe drowning in debt and serving food that was actively making people sick.

After the cameras left

Kings Blu Jam did not reopen under its own name. On February 1, 2025, the owners of Country Scrambled Cafe bought the debt-laden business and converted it into their third location, reopening to customers on February 11 at the same Spring, Texas address. So the storefront survived, just under new ownership and a new brand, a soft landing that spared the space from going dark. Connie King Sumrall's Cajun breakfast concept gave way to someone else's growing cafe chain rather than closing outright.
