What happened on the show
On Kings Road in Sydney, Nova Scotia, the Hearthstone was an independent inn serving Cape Breton Island, a market driven by tourism to one of Atlantic Canada's most scenic regions. The episode, Super Nova Scotia, took on a property trying to hold its own in a seasonal destination. An independent inn on Cape Breton depends on the summer tourist wave and needs an operation sharp enough to make the most of it. Melchiorri poked into the corners the guests never see, nudging the family to lift standards and sell the Cape Breton draw properly to the travelers passing through. The fix followed a logic the run had proven out for an independent in a seasonal market: run a tight, welcoming operation and give visitors a clean, confident base for exploring the island, because a soft season is hard to recover from when the trade is concentrated in a few months.

The Hearthstone traded its independence for a global flag. The property was rebranded as the Park Inn by Radisson, Sydney, confirmed via a direct check of its official listing, which still routes reservations through a hearthstone-branded email address at the same 560 Kings Road location. The rename attaches an international chain's booking system and standards to the same Cape Breton property. The Hearthstone Inn name is retired; the hotel itself continues under the Radisson family. Confirmed operating as of 2026 under the new brand.
