In Palm Springs, Melchiorri walked into a management tug-of-war at the Cambridge Inn, where a new owner was caught between the old general manager and a new one, and, worse, saddled with a nineteen-year lease she could not realistically pay off without serious help. The episode, Desert Disaster, framed a property trapped by both internal conflict and a punishing financial commitment. A hotel in a strong resort market can still be doomed by a bad lease and a divided management, since neither demand nor design fixes an unsustainable contract. Anthony worked the rooms and the operation while addressing the management conflict and the crushing lease terms, pushing the owner to resolve who was actually running the property and to find a path through the financial trap. The Cambridge Inn was bought out and rebranded. Effective January 1, 2017, under new ownership, the property was renamed Delos Reyes Palm Springs, with renovations covering climate control, wireless internet and pool upgrades, at 1277 South Palm Canyon Drive. The change put fresh owners and a new identity on the property that had been trapped by its lease and management conflict.
