What happened on the show

A family-owned San Francisco bar was facing shutdown over one son's excessive drinking and the bad management that came with it, leaving the room sticky and unclean, the staff leaderless and the decisions questionable. At Park 77, near San Francisco State, Taffer had to decide whether the son could clean up his act and lead, or whether the family should take him off management entirely, a hard judgment at the center of the rescue. He reopened the venue as The Lister, a fresh identity meant to give the family a clean slate, and the episode carried a quiet milestone of its own: it was the final appearance of mixologist Russell Davis, who was never brought back for the rest of the series. The bet was that fresh leadership, whether the son's or the family's, could steady a room the drinking had nearly ruined.

After the cameras left

The Lister Bar stuck and is still operating. The rescue rebrand held through the show's 2016 revisit, and multiple current business directories, dated as recently as June 2026 and November 2024, list it as an active establishment at 77 Cambon Drive, with an active Facebook page, which puts the open call at high confidence. The family's bar survived the son's drinking and kept the rescue identity, landing this one among the clearer renamed-and-surviving cases near San Francisco State University.
