What happened on the show

A former Philadelphia detective was drinking hard after years on the force, and his bar was paying for it. At Lickety Split, Taffer worked to straighten out an owner who had traded the badge for a bar top and then hit the bottle, with the owner's daughter joining the recon to provide inside information on how far things had slipped. The rescue reopened the room under a new identity, 2nd State Lounge with an Alleged Bar and Pizza concept, but the epilogue delivered a twist: this became only the second episode, after Swanky Bubbles, in which the bar changed again after Taffer left, with the Alleged Bar and Pizza element stripped back out. It was a rescue whose central struggle was as much the owner's drinking as anything structural, a retired cop trying to hold a business together while fighting himself.

After the cameras left

Lickety Split is closed, and its Center City corner has moved on entirely. PhillyVoice, an independent Philadelphia outlet, reports the space as now defunct, with the music venue MilkBoy taking over the former location at 4th and South Streets, which puts the closure at high confidence. The 2nd State Lounge rebrand reportedly lasted only about a month before reverting, and the detective's bar did not survive: the room now belongs to a different business, and the Lickety Split name is gone from the block.
